24/7 Appointment Scheduling

Proudly serving the Jackson, Mississippi community, our subutex clinic provides adults struggling with addiction the ability to recover from heroin, oxycodone, Percocet, and other opiates.

How It Works and Is It Safe?

How Subutex Treatment Works

First approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2002 for the treatment of opioid addiction, Subutex has since provided numerous individuals with relief from the painful symptoms often associated with the withdrawal process. Subutex safely eliminates withdrawal symptoms while providing relief from cravings for continued opioid use. When taken as prescribed, Subutex is an extremely safe and effective treatment option for individuals who are battling an addiction to these powerful substances. In addition, Subutex allows patients the ability to actively play a role in daily activities without impairment or cognitive delay.

Subutex is typically prescribed daily in the form of a dissolvable tablet that is absorbed into the body. Using buprenorphine hydrochloride as its primary active ingredient, Subutex has been extensively studied to attest to its safety.

Jackson Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides multiple medications that can be incorporated into a patient’s treatment plan, which is why patients should closely work with their treatment provider in order to determine the appropriate medication based upon their individual treatment needs and goals.

The Benefits Treatment & Counseling

The Benefits of Subutex Treatment & Counseling

In order for lasting recovery to take place, individuals must be treated for both the emotional and physical components of their addiction. Jackson Comprehensive Treatment Center provides patients with the ability to develop a customized plan of care that utilizes both medication assisted-treatment and therapeutic interventions. Therapeutic interventions such as individual and group therapy provide patients with the ability to address and treat the underlying causes of their addictions while preparing for a future that is opioid-free. These sessions are designed to promote open and honest communication with our highly qualified team of counselors. Patients who utilize these sessions will experience the following stages during the course of treatment:

Induction: It is during the induction phase of treatment that patients are first introduced to Subutex and are typically still experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Stabilization: During the stabilization stage of treatment, patients are no longer experiencing withdrawal symptoms nor are they craving continued opioid use. It is during this time when patients are able to adjust their dosage of Subutex if necessary.

Maintenance: The maintenance stage of treatment allows patients the option to wean themselves off of their medication as they are stable enough to do so. Once a patient’s system is completely clear of Subutex, he or she can either remain opioid-free without the aid of a prescription or transition onto a different medication for the remainder of their treatment.

Group therapy sessions are led by one of our highly qualified counselors and provide the opportunity for patients to come together with other individuals who are also receiving treatment for addiction. By working with their peers, patients are able to provide and receive the support and encouraging that is necessary in order to progress towards recovery. These sessions also provide the opportunity to openly discuss a variety of topics in relation to recovery and preparing for a substance-free future. Individual therapy allows patients the ability to work one-on-one with a counselor in order to pinpoint the underlying causes of their addictive behaviors while appropriately progressing towards recovery. Both sessions promote open and honest communication in order to move forward in the treatment process.

How to Support Your Loved One during Medication-Assisted Treatment: Prior to supporting your loved one as they progress in the treatment of opioid addiction, you must receive support and treatment of your own. Jackson CTC promotes the use of support groups, individual therapy, and family therapy as a way to supply your loved one with the support and encouragement that they require in order to successfully progress in treatment.

How You Can Be Successful in a Medication Assisted Treatment Program: Patients should keep the following in mind as they progress in treatment:

  • Adhere to all guidelines in regards to taking your Subutex
  • Play an active part in group and individual therapy sessions
  • Voice any questions or issues that you may have during the course of treatment. Jackson CTC is here to provide patients with the highest quality of care.
  • Communicate any issues that you may have while taking Subutex. Adjustments to a patient’s mediation can be made during the course of treatment if necessary
  • Do not consume opioids or alcohol during treatment

Is it important to find a “Subutex clinic near me?” It is important that you or your loved one have a strong support system to be successful in treatment.
